Explain public and private events

A private event is one held on private property, for example a backyard birthday party. An event held on private property is no longer considered private if it is an event open to the public such as a street party or open house.

A public event is one held on public property regardless of the type of event, for example a community center, park or place of business.

Only rental companies licensed by TSSA are permitted to operate at public events. Ignoring this rule can result in a shut down notice being served at the event by a TSSA officer, and a fine. Jumpy Things is licensed by TSSA, and has all permits, insurance and training required to operate at public events.
